We wanted to share with you our most recent Interior Motorized Solar Shade project at All Sport in upstate NY. As with all of our projects, it required advanced planning and an Engineered Shading Solution. As you can see from the first picture below, we maximized the space available with our coupled shading system perfect for this commercial motorized shade project. We coupled 4 shades under 1 fascia, giving a very clean and beautiful shading solution ideal for the limited space we had to mount the shades. Since these were RTS line voltage motors, we had to specificy the electrictian to bring power to every four windows (marked the location at the measure). Once the power was brough up, we simply plugged our extreamly powerful RTS line voltage plugs directly into the shade motors.
Another great aspect of this project was the choice to utilize our SW2701 1% fabric series, which dramatically cuts down the heat absorption while still allowing for privacy and glare control. However, the best feature of the SW2700 series, is it’s advanced metallic backing which provides the highest glare and heat control of any fabric – making it one of our most requested fabric choices by clients and Architects alike.
Below you can get a better idea of how effective using our coupled system eliminates the standard gaps with solar shades, while allowing for maximum glare control.
Another great aspect of this project was the inclusion of our RTS 120v shade motors with 1 central power control. Since this was a line voltage project, we specified exactly where we needed each power supply for every 4 shades. Once that was configured, we installed the motorized shades simply by plugging our shade into the supplied power supply. The wireless wall switch was then installed in the maintenance closet where the facility manager could have remote access to operate the shades.
