Our mission is to educate Architects as to the worthiness of these specialized products so they are considered during the design phase of a project and are not an afterthought. We define&nbsp;Engineered Shading Solutions&nbsp;as the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><em>Engineered Shading Solutions are sustainable systems for interior and exterior window coverings which engage the latest technologies to control levels of&nbsp;solar heat gain, annoying glare and light.&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">A recent installation illustrates the process of an Engineered Shading Solution from the design stage to install. <a href=\"\/home\">InSync Solar<\/a> was contracted to create a specialized <a href=\"\/interior-products\/skylights\">skylight system<\/a> for a solarium in a luxurious town home on the upper east side of Manhattan.&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/insyncsolar.com\/Staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screen_Shot_2015-08-20_at_12.14.22_PM.png\" alt=\"Solar Shades\" style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto 5px;\" title=\"Solar Shades\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">This automated system called for 10 skylight&nbsp;and 5 vertical shades. There were several<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">unique alterations we needed to engineer. Here are some highlights:<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">1)&nbsp;The aluminum enclosures needed to be small enough to fit flush with the windowmullions. To achieve this we had to modify the take up reels to a smaller diameter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">2)&nbsp;The vertical shades needed to function as a reverse roll to clear the handle obstruction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">3)&nbsp;The aluminum components which consists of the enclosures, hem bars and side tracks needed to be custom finished to match the solarium finish. This was done with the RAL color matching system most commonly used in Europe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">4) Since the client wanted no support bars in the skylight, we needed to add additional side channels and extra torque on the tension system.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">5) InSync Solar designed a control system to integrate with the A\/V system used in the town home.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">The result as an effective a significant reduction of solar heat gain, allowing only a trace of glare and providing good visual transparency through the fabric.
